Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Sähkön Hinta (Electricity Price Finland) mobile application ("App") and the https://sahkonhinta.refactorise.com/ website ("Website"), collectively referred to as the "Service."

By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Sähkön Hinta is an electricity spot price tracking utility designed for consumers in Finland. The App retrieves publicly accessible electricity spot market prices (pörssisähkö) to display current rates, daily statistics (minimum, average, maximum), tomorrow's upcoming rates (when published), interactive pricing charts, and resolution toggles (15-minute and 1-hour intervals).

2. Free and Ad-Supported Service

The Service is provided to you free of charge. To support maintenance and ongoing development, the App displays third-party banner advertisements served via Google AdMob. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that advertisements may be presented during your use of the App. Your interactions with third-party advertisements or advertised products are solely between you and the respective third-party advertiser.

3. Third-Party Data Sources and API Dependencies

The Service relies on third-party public data sources and open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to provide electricity spot prices and market data:

  • The developer does not own, control, or operate these third-party data providers or the Nord Pool power market.
  • We cannot guarantee that these external APIs will be available without interruptions, service downtime, network latency, or maintenance windows.
  • Publication times for future market prices (such as tomorrow's spot rates) depend entirely on when market operators publish the underlying auction results.
  • External APIs may occasionally modify their data formatting, schemas, or service availability without notice, which may temporarily affect data display within the App.

4. Use of the Service and Restrictions

You agree to use the Service solely for lawful, personal, and non-commercial informational purposes. You agree not to:

  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable or disproportionately large request load on the upstream APIs or services connected to the App.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international regulation.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED STRICTLY ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Informational Reference Only: Spot prices, VAT estimates, and calculations shown in the App are provided for general reference and convenience only. Actual electricity costs are determined solely by your binding contract with your electricity retailer and local grid operator.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will function uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • The pricing data, timestamps, or chart visualizations will be 100% accurate, complete, or up-to-date at any given moment.
  • Any defects or errors in data feeds will be immediately corrected.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Financial losses, unexpected electricity bill amounts, or tariff disputes resulting from decisions made based on data displayed in the App.
  • Losses or equipment damage resulting from automated appliance scheduling, electric vehicle (EV) charging, heat pump control, or smart home relay automation.
  • Service disruptions, API failures, missing data, or inability to access the Service during peak or critical pricing periods.

You assume full responsibility for your electricity consumption decisions and for verifying critical pricing directly with your official electricity supplier or grid operator.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its visual design, UI layouts, graphics, icons, logos, code, and compilations, is owned by the developer and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the developer's trademarks or copyrighted materials.

8. Changes to the Service and Discontinuation

We reserve the right to modify, update, enhance, or discontinue the Service (or any feature or part thereof) temporarily or permanently at any time, with or without prior notice, and without liability to you.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Any updates will be published directly on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
